Sorry, No Picture! There are approximately 20 species of swiftlets. Being related to the spinetails they share common characteristics, such as their extraordinary flying ability, long and narrow wings, spiny tipped tail feathers and dark plumage. They range in size from 3.5 to 6.5 inches. They can primarily be found in southeast Asia. In the Far East swiftlet nests are consumed and this popular dish is known as 'birds nest soup'.
