Mayfly
(Order Ephemeroptera)
Mayflies are characterized by their thin, delicate wings. The front pair of wings are much larger than
the rear wings. Mayflies have a long aquatic larval stage. As adults they emerge from the water. This
terrestrial stage is brief. Mayflies are commonly eaten by fish. Artificial mayflies are used by anglers.
