Ticks

Ticks, which are found in the same order as scorpions, spiders and mites, have tough, leathery, oval bodies. They are generally small, growing no larger then several mm. Found throughout North America many are tree living or parasitic. These spider-like, 8-legged creatures require blood for their development and reproduction. These ticks have burrowed their heads into the flesh of an animal. [BM] {PF}
