Woden

Woden became ruler of the universe after he and his two brothers, Ve and Vili, killed the very first of all living beings, the frost giant Ymir. Woden lived in Asgard, which is the place which housed all the gods and goddesses. In Asgard, the Vikings believed there was a hall called Valhalla, which they believed they would travel to if they died while fighting. In Valhalla, it was believed they could fight all day and dine all night. The Anglo-Saxon word Wednesday has been named in honour of Woden. [BM] {W2}
