Enkidu

Enkidu was a good friend of the epic hero Gilgamesh, and accompanied him in all his exploits. After Enkidu was created by Aruru, he lived a wild life in the wilderness with animals for friends. Later, when he had become a friend of Gilgamesh, he defended the hero against the anger of Ishtar. She was furious because Gilgamesh had rejected her, and she sent a bull to kill him and his warriors. When Enkidu tried to help him, he was killed by Ishtar. [LH] {CL}
