Modern St.Lucia

From 1958 to 1962 St. Lucia was a member of the Federation of the West Indies. St. Lucia retained close ties with Great Britain as they became internally self-governing in 1967. In 1979 St. Lucia became a fully independent state within the Commonwealth, thus recognizing Queen Elizabeth II as chief of state. St. Lucia boasts a stable & competitve political climate. [BM] {UA}
