The Polish monarchy slowly disintegrated leaving the country unprotected. At the end of the 18th century Polish territory had been cut apart & obliterated as a state. Poland was to be reunited under the czar of Russia in 1815. Poland remained under Russian power until Russia fell in WWI. During WWII Poland was heavily attacked by Russia & Germany. Almost the entire Jewish population in Poland was abolished. After the war the Communist party dominated the political scene. [BM] {UA}
