Lithuanians expanded their territory during the 14th century from the Baltic Sea almost to the Black Sea, including Belarus & Ukraine. Lithuania was to become the Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth through marriage of the monarchies. For this union of nations to occur, Lithuania had to accept Christianity, which it did in 1387.
