Throughout the 1660's, 1700's and 1800's there was tension as the Habsburg dynasty took extensive measures to reconvert the Bohemians to Roman Catholicism. This dynasty fell during WWI, freeing Bohemia, Moravia and part of Silesia to establish Czechoslovakia. This new nation prospered between the wars.
