Through Hitler's interventions Czechoslovakia came under Nazi rule. With the falling of Hitlers Reich, Czechoslovakia was reestablished with strong Communist ties. Communism continued from the 1940's into the 1990's. In 1993 both the Czech Republic and Slovakia emerged from Czechoslovakia as independent republics. [BM] {UA}
