Medieval Rwanda

Rwanda was inhabited by Hutu farmers. In the late 15th century Tutsi cattle breeders entered the territory & conquered the Hutus. The Hutus were forced into surfdom as the Tutsi established a monarchy. In 1899 Germans arrived in Rwanda & declared it a protectorate. Following WWI Belgium was given a League of Nations mandate over Rwanada.
