Ancient Hungary

Hungary was once home to a tribe of Central Asian horsemen known as the Magyars. The Magyars were known for terrorizing Europe in the 9th century AD. When the Magyars settled on the Hungarian Plains they displaced Germanic and Slavic settlers. The Magyars organized a kingdom in 896 and converted to Christianity in the 10th century.
