Medieval Hungary

The Ottoman empire came to rule Hungary after the Battle of Mahacs in 1526. Their rule lasted until the end of the 17th century when the Habsburg empire won over the territory in a series of battles. This empire ruled until 1867 when the dual monarchy of Hungary and Austria was formed.
