Once in Vienna, Mozart as a young man agreed to compose a sonata for a young woman who played violin. The piece was to be performed for the Emperor, and Mozart accompanied the woman on the Harpsichord. The Emperor was looking at the players with his opera glasses and when the concert was over sent a message to Mozart telling him to bring his sheet music to the Royal Box.
