Formal Operations Stage
This is the fourth and last stage in Piaget’s theory of cognitive development.
Most humans enter this stage when they are about 11 years old.
In this stage, people are able to understand abstract concepts (ideas about things you can’t see or touch),
and can think logically about things that might happen as well as things that have or do happen.
[Comparing the brain to a computer: the child can process very complex data,
based on extrapolations and "what if" scenarios.]
