A type of neurosis where a person has difficulty coping with some everyday situations because he becomes extremely anxious (scared, nervous).
The person tries to reduce his anxiety by repeating words or actions over and over,
even though that doesn’t really do anything to change the situation. In some cases, the person may feel anxious almost 24 hours a day. The 2 major kinds of anxiety disorders are phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
