Electrons

Electrons move through metal wires to conduct electricity. They have a charge of -1 and move in an area around the nucleus of the atom. In chemical bonding, electrons move between atoms and help join the atoms together. In any atom of the Periodic Table, the number of electrons equals the number of protons; since the number of negative and positive charges is equal, the atom has no charge. Approximately 1837 electrons equals the mass of one proton. [LM] {CC}
