Slate
Slate is a gray or black rock that is identified by its readiness to split into thin sheets. Mica is one of the main minerals found in slate. Slate develops from shale or mudstone that has undergone regional metamorphism. Some places containing masses of slate are Scotland and France. This rock is industrially used to make blackboards, floors, and shingles.
