Contact Metamorphic Rock
If a metamorphic rock is formed by heat, contact metamorphism has occurred. Contact
metamorphism occurs when lava, which is hot liquid rock, flows over solid rock. Marble is
formed from limestone that has undergone contact metamorphism.
