Basalt
Basalt is the most common igneous rock. It is dark brown or black, and directly results from cooled flowing magma. One variety of basalt is scoria, which has bubble-like cavities where minerals develop. Some minerals that are associated with basalt are feldspars and olivine. Large masses of basalt occur in India and Brazil. Basalt is used as a material for roads and buildings.
