Guanine
Guanine is one of the precursors of DNA and RNA nucleotides, along with adenine, cytosine,
thymine, and uracil. It is a purine nitrogenous base that consists of fused 5- and 6-member rings
of carbon and nitrogen atoms. Guanine is colourless and water-soluble. Its complementary base
pair in DNA is cytosine. (AT LEFT, carbon atoms are white, nitrogen atoms are blue, hydrogen
atoms are green, and oxygen atoms are orange)
