Adenine

Adenine is one of the precursors of DNA and RNA nucleotides, along with cytosine, guanine, thymine, and uracil. It is a purine nitrogenous base that consists of fused 5- and 6-member rings of carbon and nitrogen atoms. In DNA, the complementary base pair of adenine is thymine, while uracil pairs with adenine in RNA. Atoms shown: carbon (black), nitrogen (green) and hydrogen (red) [LM] {GE} {RH}
