What are Vitamins?
Vitamins are organic compounds that are produced outside of living organisms; therefore,
humans must take in a certain amount every day. Vitamins behave as helpers to enzymes;
therefore, vitamins are also referred to as coenzymes. Vitamins are classified into two categories:
fat-soluble and water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins include vitamins A, D, E, and K.
Water-soluble vitamins include the B complex and vitamin C.
