Polymers
Polymers are organic compounds built from individual units called monomers. They are
long and contain thousands upon thousands of molecules; "poly-" means many, and "-mer"
means units. Polymers are used worldwide; plastics, synthetic fibres, and rubbers are all
examples of polymers. Natural polymers include wood and silk.
