Tartaric Acid
Tartaric acid is a common plant acid that is found in many fruits, including grapes. It is as a
by-product of wine fermentation. This colourless, crystalline plant acid easily dissolves in water.
It is used in carbonated drinks and gelatine deserts. In industry, tartaric acid is useful in cleaning
and polishing metal and in the development and processing of photographs.
