Carnotite
Carnotite (hydrated vanadate of potassium and uranium) is one of the world's major sources of
uranium. It is a canary-yellow mineral that is formed from other vanadium- and uranium-bearing
minerals. Significant amounts of this semi-rare mineral occur in the desert of the southwestern
United States, and in Russia. Carnotite is mined for its vanadium and uranium contents.
