Melanterite
Melanterite (hydrous iron sulphate) is also referred to as copperas. This white or green mineral
tarnishes yellow when exposed to air. It is formed by the chemical addtion of oxygen to iron
sulphide minerals. American locations of melanterite include California, Nevada, and Tennessee.
