Jarosite
Jarosite is also called a basic hydrous sulphate of potassium and iron. It can be deep yellow or
brown in colour, and is translucent. This uncommon mineral is associated with galena and
turquoise. Jarosite can be found in the western United States. It was first identified in the Jaroso
ravine, Spain, which it is named after.
