Scapolite Series
The scapolite series is a pair of complex silicates: marialite contains sodium, and meionite
contains calcium. These minerals can be white, blue, or gray, and have short, square
crystals. This series is usually formed when metamorphic rock is formed. Since these are
very common minerals, they can be found all over the world. North American locations include
New York, USA, and Quebec, Canada. These minerals are of interest to mineralogists.
