Jadeite
Jadeite (sodium aluminum silicate) is
usually white, green, or black. It is a very rare mineral that develops in regional
metamorphic rocks. Masses of jadeite can be found in Guatemala and California, USA. Quality
jadeite is called jade, and is considered a gemstone; beautiful jade can be found in Burma.
Jade is used for jewelry and sculptures.
