Here is a picture of chrysocolla crystals growing on quartz. Chrysocolla (basic copper silicate) is a common mineral, usually blue or green in colour. Its name is derived from the Greek words: "chrysos" meaning "gold" and "kolla" meaning "glue". Chrysocolla is light and quite translucent. It is found in large quantities in Chile, Morocco, and in the southwestern United States. Chrysocolla is mined for its copper content. [BM] {CC} {SS}
