Acmite
Acmite (silicate containing sodium and iron) is also known as aegirine. It is a fairly common
mineral that is usually black, dark brown, or dark green. Acmite develops in igneous rocks that
are rich in iron and sodium. This mineral is found in places such as Greenland and Quebec,
Canada. Acmite, or aegirine, is named after Aegir, who was the Teutonic sea god.
