Wavellite (hydrated aluminum phosphate) is quite rare. It is a green or yellowish-green mineral that develops along the cracks of aluminum-rich rocks; wavellite is associated with minerals such as muscovite and turquoise, two minerals containing aluminum. Large wavellite deposits can be found in Arkansas and Pennsylvania, USA. Wavellite is exploited for its phosphate content. [LM] {CC} {SS}
