Turquoise
Turquoise (hydrated copper aluminum phosphate) is a gemstone mineral that is bright blue with a
hint of green. It develops in areas that are rich in aluminum-bearing minerals. This semi-rare
mineral can be found in Iran and in the southwestern United States. Turquoise is mined for use in
jewelry. It is the birthstone of December.
