Tremolite
Tremolite (hydrous silicate of calcium, magnesium, and iron) is a very common mineral. It is
usually light greenish-brown, and is white or colourless when pure, and is identified by its
elongated crystals. Tremolite occurs all over the world, including Austria and Switzerland. Jade,
a gemstone, is a combination of tremolite and actinolite. Asbestos is actually fibrous tremolite.
