Apatite
Apatite is a complex phosphate mineral containing calcium, fluorine, chlorine, and hydroxide. Its
colour varies according to the amount of each element present; it may be colourless, red, yellow,
green, blue, violet, or brown. This mineral is very common, and develops in igneous and
metamorphic rocks. Sizable masses occur all over the world, notably in Germany, Spain, and
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Apatite is mined for its phosphate content.
