Silver Nitrate
Silver nitrate is a chemical compound which is very important for medicinal purposes. When
diluted, it is used as an antiseptic. This compound is commonly applied to the eyes of newborn
babies, as it ensures against blindness from gonorrhea. In less diluted form, it is used to remove
warts and seal or cauterize open wounds.
