Columbite-Tantalite Series

The Columbite-Tantalite series are two Minerals that contain Oxygen with Niobium and Tantalum. Ccolumbite contains more Niobium and Tantalite contains more Tantalum. Both of these Minerals are black and weakly magnetic. They are commonly found in Granite Pegmatites along with Minerals including Corundum and Quartz. Large deposits of these Minerals are located in Western Australia, Brazil, and Norway. Columbite and Tantalite are important sources of Niobium and Tantalum. [LM] {CC} {SS}
