Chrysoberyl
Chrysoberyl is also known as beryllium aluminum oxide. Various colours of this mineral have
different names, and quality chrysoberyl is considered a gemstone. Dark green chrysoberyl that is
red in artificial light is called alexandrite. Chrysoberyl with traces of rutile is called cat's eye. In
nature, chrysoberyl is almost always found with beryl. Quality chrysoberyl can be found in Brazil
and Rhodesia.
