Inorganic Acids
Inorganic acids are the strongest type of acid. An inorganic acid consists of positively charge
hydrogen ions and negatively charged inorganic atoms known as acid radicals. Nitric acid is used
to make TNT, a chemical found in explosives and fireworks. Hydrochloric acid is commercially
used to clean metals and manufacture glue; HCl is acid found in our stomach. Acid rain occurs
because sulphuric acid, carbonic acid, and nitric acid are formed in the air when certain
chemicals are burned off.
