Cryolite

Cryolite (sodium aluminum fluoride) is a white or colourless mineral. It is found in mineral-rich granite, where it is usually associated with galena and siderite. The world's major cryolite deposit occurs in Ivigtut, Greenland. This rare mineral is used in making glazes for pottery. [LM] {CC} {SS}
