Rhodochrosite (2 of 2)
Here is a cross section of Chilean rhodochrosite. This fairly common mineral becomes darker
when exposed to the atmosphere (oxidation). Rhodochrosite has the shape of a slanted box. It is
found in areas of Europe, South Africa, and North America.
