Palladium was discovered by Wollaston in 1803. Palladium is a white metal that is used to make
watches and surgical instruments. White gold is pure gold mixed with palladium. It can be found
along with metals from the platinum group, and may also be found in nickel-copper deposits. It is
named after the asteroid Pallas.
