Cronstedt discovered Nickel in 1751.
Nickel is commercially obtained from pentlandite and pyrrhotite in Sudbury, Ontario, which produces 70% of the Nickel in the World.
It is also found in niccolite and in most meteorites.
Nickel steel is used for armour plates and burglar-proof vaults and in rust-resistant alloys.
Nickel is also used in coinage.
