Cesium (also known as Caesium) was discovered by Bunsen and Kirchoff in 1860 in water from Durkheim. Cesium is one of the most reactive metals; in cold water, it explodes. Cesium can be found in the minerals lepidolite and pollucite. The main uses are in photoelectric cells and in atomic clocks. One of the richest sources of Cesium in the world is located at Bernic Lake, Manitoba.
