White Spruce
White Spruce Picea glauca grows all over Canada and its flexible roots
were used by northern people to sew together birch bark canoes. Its short
narrow leaves are blunt at the tips and blue-green in colour. When crushed
they have an aromatic smell. White Spruce is widely used for pulpwood and for
lumber.
