Pitch Pine
Pitch Pine Pinus rigida has twisted needlelike leaves in clusters of
three. In Canada it grows in a small area in the St. Lawrence River Valley.
It is rather an untidy looking tree which sometimes has tufts of needles
growing straight from the trunk. Stumps of trees that have been cut down
for firewood sometimes form new sprouts.
