Common Cat-tail
Common Cat-tail Typha latifolia is a marsh plant. It
grows to a height of 2 to 3 metres and spreads rapidly by
underground creeping stems. Flowers are produced in
thick spikes with male flowers on top and female flowers
lower down. The spikes turn velvety brown, eventually
bursting to release the fluffy seeds which are dispersed
by the wind.
