Pickerelweed
Pickerelweed Pontederia cordata grows in shallow
water where it can form extensive beds of vegetation.
The shiny parallel-veined leaves are shaped like arrow
heads and the spikes of violet-blue flowers look rather
like hyacinths. Pickerelweed is a plant of eastern and
southern North America.
