Wild Lily-of-the-valley
Wild Lily-of-the-valley Maianthemum canadense is a
common spring flower of North American woods. It has
a single basal leaf and short flowering stem with one or
two smaller leaves. The flowers which form a white
cluster have four points instead of a multiple of three
which is more usual in the Lily Family. The pale red
berries may stay on the plant all winter.
